Naval Base Guam hosted its first open-base event on June 20. The event, entitled “Maila’ Hålom Day” was designed to strengthen friendships with the community, build an understanding of the base and its capabilities and provide an open forum for citizens of Guam to visit the base for a day of festivities, said a release. The free event included a 5K run; sports tournaments, food and drink vendors, and activities for children, carabao rides, military static displays, historical displays and musical entertainment.
