South Korea’s largest airport, Seoul Incheon Airport, is to be presented later this year with two recognitions in the Airports Council International’s 2016 Airport Service Quality Awards program.
Seoul Incheon Airport will win first place in the best airport in the Asia-Pacific region category and best airport for its size in the 40 million passengers per year subcategory.
Airport Service Quality Awards winners are determined by customer ratings collected via survey from passengers at the airport on their day of travel. Annually, the program delivers about 600,000 individual surveys in 84 countries, measuring passengers’ views on 34 key performance indicators, including airport access, check-in, security screening, restrooms, stores and restaurants.
According to Seoul Incheon Airport, this is the 12th consecutive year the airport has been recognized by the program. A total of 57.76 million passengers used the airport last year, which is a 17.2% increase from the previous year.
The awards ceremony will be held at the 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition on Oct. 16 to 18 in Port Louis, Mauritius.
