Delta Air Lines in October announced that customers can track their baggage through the Fly Delta mobile application, which provides a map view of the bag’s last scanned location. The service utilizes Delta’s Radio Frequency Identification bag tags. The technology is available at 84 airports in the United States. All domestic stations now offer the map view of the bag’s journey, and international stations will receive this technology in the coming months. Push notifications will sync with the app and offer Delta customers down-to-the-minute updates on their checked baggage.
Other updates to the Fly Delta app include automatic updates on electronic boarding passes to include seat, gate and flight information, an upgraded interface, more efficient ticket purchasing and other bug fixes and performance enhancements.
