Passengers on long flights with United Airlines may have been disappointed to find that several clues were missing in The New York Times Crossword in the December issue of Hemispheres magazine. Though the solutions appeared in the magazine, puzzle solvers may never know the satisfaction of flexing their intellectual muscles for clues 40, 41, 46, 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 55, 56, 58, 61 and 66 down.
