University of Guam Press launches Chamorro alphabet book

The University of Guam Press launched “I Atfabeton Chamorro: An alphabetical journey through the culture of the Mariana Islands” on June 17.

The publication features the writing of upper division Chamorro language students from the University of Guam and photography and artwork from local artists. Each letter of the Chamorro alphabet is used to describe a cultural concept, story or item. The text is in Chamorro, English and Japanese.
