The Chalan Pago Route 10 location with a double drive thru under construction.
By Maureen N. Maratita
Slingstone Coffee is located in Anigua opposite Adelup, East Hagatna, Upper Barrigada near Rev&Tax, and Agana Shopping Center with three locations opening in Tamuning on Route 1, Mangilao on Route 15 and Chalan Pago on Route 10.
One of the island’s most unique coffee drive thru chains, Slingstone Coffee, has been listed for sale by Founding Owner and Operator Peter Walls, and is expected to attract interest from the likes of Guam’s top food companies wishing to expand their future F&B portfolio. Price expectations are in excess of $5 million for seven stores, of which four are operating and three are under construction, scheduled to open 2025.
Peter and Hiroko Walls, who developed the concept in 2017, have invested heavily in its expansion, adding four unique shipping container drive thrus, three mobile Coffee Carts, and a wholesale beverage distribution product inventory. The business also includes Guam’s biggest green coffee importing and coffee roasting facility currently roasting five tons of coffee a year.
The Slingstone coffee corporate company, Green Turtle Inc., will take the offering to a select pool of potential buyers who have a track record of developing their portfolio of food outlets and who wish to expand into the beverage outlet category. These are expected to include several local companies who have considered bringing franchises like Starbucks to Guam but come up against the same hurdle, the cost of entry point, rate of expansion and ROI is too high for a small population to consider.
