Foremost Foods Inc./Coca-Cola Beverage Co. (Guam), and sister companies Glimpses Media and Cinnabon have announced the following appointments.
Ken N. Duenas has been appointed sales manager for Foremost Foods Inc. and Coca-Cola Beverage Co. (Guam.) He previously was director of Glimpses Media.
Duenas joined Glimpses Media in 2017 as sales manager and has more than 21 years of experience in the sales and finance industries. Prior to joining Glimpses, he was a sales executive for Guam Autospot and the sales and finance manager for Guam Harley-Davidson for 10 years.
Duenas is also the owner of KND Trading PSG and Pure Swing Golf.
He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Security Forces apprentice course in criminal justice.
Rick J. Hernandez has been appointed sales manager for Glimpses Media.
He previously held various positions at Sorensen Media Group as an account executive, master control operator, and administrative executive. Hernandez has 19 years of experience in the sales profession. He has also worked in the business development field.
Arnel Toves has been appointed assistant sales manager for Foremost Foods Inc. and Coca-Cola Beverage Co. (Guam.) He was formerly senior business consultant, and has 24 years of experience at the company, working in various capacities from merchandiser to routes sales driver.
Christopher “Panda” Eustaquio has been named general manager of the newly acquired Cinnabon franchise business. He will retain the role of assistant general manager of Chili’s Grill & Bar.
He was appointed assistant general manager for Chili’s in 2022. He previously was restaurant manager for Chili’s Grill & Bar and formerly was a sales representative for Island Wines & Spirits. Eustaquio has almost 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Karen Galiza has been appointed operations manager for Cinnabon.
She previously worked at Chili’s Grill & Bar as a bartender, and formerly worked at Sodexo and Baldyga International Group as a manager.
Junior Achievement Guam has announced the appointment of Joshua S. Miller as executive director.
He previously was the business development manager for Solenergy Micronesia LLC.
Miller is also the founder and operations director of Ethos Data Analytics & Branding, which he founded in August 2019.
He holds a 2021 bachelor’s of business administration and a 2022 professional master of business administration, both from the University of Guam. Miller also holds a variety of certifications in analytics, search engine optimization and more.
Ryan Bamba, assistant vice president and branch operations support manager at Bank of Hawaii, was elected to the JA board of directors.
Robert Perez has joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Guam office as a business program specialist.
He formerly was general manager and chief financial officer with JWS Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He re-joined JWS as chief financial officer in 2021, having formerly worked at ANZ Bank in Guam as financial control manager and assistant relationship manager. Perez arrived in Guam in 1997 as assistant branch head of Metro Bank.
Perez holds a 1985 degree in accounting from Jose Rizal University in Manila and is a certified public accountant as of 2013.
Jonah Chau has been appointed store manager at Crowns Guam.
He previously was a marketing associate for Serenity Realty Guam. Chau is a student at the University of Guam and founder of the UOG Student Athletes Association.
The Palau International Coral Reef Center has announced the following appointments:
Lauren Piot as aquarium researcher.
She holds a master of science in environment, politics, and development from The School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and a master in marine systems and policies from the University of Edinburgh.
Before coming to Palau, Piot volunteered on a turtle conservation project in Costa Rica, conducted fieldwork in the Maldives to study the impact of land reclamation on coral reefs, and surveyed kelp forests in Scotland to assess climate change’s impacts on seaweed.
At the center, Piot is leading a project to develop a climate-smart framework for managing and preparing Palau’s coral reefs for future climate threats.
Cinzia Alessi as aquarium researcher.
She holds a bachelor in marine biology and a master’s in marine ecology from the University of Palermo, and a doctorate in population biology and ecology from the Pacific Doctoral School, University of New Caledonia.
She is managing a project focused on genetic adaptation for successful coral restoration, funded by the Coral Research and Development Accelerator Platform and in collaboratopm with the University of Newcastle, the University of Queensland, and the University of Philippines.
Mireia Batlle Canalias as communications and outreach officer.
Canalias previously was a science writer and project manager at Science Crunchers, a Portuguese science communication agency. She formerly was a mediator and facilitator at a science gallery in Dublin.
Canalias holds a bachelor of science in genetics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a master of science in science and health communication from Dublin City University.
Rebecca Carey as communications and outreach officer.
She previously was a reef education officer at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority in Townsville, Queensland, Australia.
She holds a bachelor of science in nature-based ecotourism with a minor in indigenous studies and an honors in science communication, both from the University of Adelaide.
