Letters to the Editor Opinion

Editor:

Stanley Consultants strives to provide our members access to comprehensive, high-quality, affordable benefits that are competitive within our industry. Each year we keep these key objectives in mind as we review our benefit plans and manage costs. Member surveys, such as [the one conducted for Guam Business Magazine’s “Best Companies to Work For” feature in the July-August 2015 issue], allow us a way to understand how our members feel, which is so important for member retention and member satisfaction.

Thank you for taking the time to write a very informative article.

As a nominee, I’d like to thank First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine as well as the main sponsors — BMW, United Airlines and Hyatt Regency Guam — for giving me this opportunity. It is a great honor and good experience for me to learn from different industries and to know more excellent businesswomen on island. It also [introduced me to] a brand new aspect for doing business on Guam. I hope I can be more successful afterwards.

The Businesswoman of the Year gala was a fun and memorable night. The highlight of the whole experience was getting to know the other nominees, learning about their businesses, their successes and the challenges they’ve overcome. We had a wonderful evening, and it was an honor to be recognized for my team’s sacrifice.

First of all, thank you to Guam Business Magazine and First Hawaiian Bank for hosting the Businesswoman of the Year event. It’s important that the women on our island get to be recognized for their accomplishments and commitment to serving others in the home, workplace and community. It is my perspective that all eight nominees this year are winners. The ability to share and get to know each other is a testament that we all are deserving of the award.

I truly thank God for the honor and give him all the glory. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). As I reflect back to the night of the gala, it was a special moment, and I’m grateful for all that I’ve been given.
