Guam’s other latte: A caffeinated guide to the island’s coffee shops

on January 25, 2016 | Leave a comment
Bites Features

By Amanda Pampuro

Twenty-five years ago, there were just two coffee shops on Guam: Hava Java and a kiosk inside a department store. Today, cafés are one of Guam’s fastest growing industries, with more than 30 establishments across the island. Though it might seem redundant to have so many logos and labels for a simple cup of joe, specialized beans, brewing methods and flavor syrups allow for endless possibilities. Do you know where you can get an authentic Korean-style Multi-Grain Latte? When’s the last time you drank Frutti Pebbles?

Additionally, coffee seekers factor into consideration other factors to include convenience of location, WiFi, privacy for meetings or to get work done and, of course, quality service.

From the heart of Hagåtña to the edge of Yigo, Guam’s coffee shops can satisfy every caffeine craving and provide for productive work hours well into the evenings.
