I first want to thank you and [writer Melanie Mendiola] for the nice story on me. I am sending you herewith an e-mail I just received from a dear friend for decades who read the story on the Internet and commented.
Mr. Win Straube is a businessman who lives in Pennington, N.J. Win originated from East Germany and defected to West Germany and became the official interpreter for Chancellor Konrad Adenauer of Germany. He is a very interesting man.
Thank you and your staff for exposing me to the public.

President, Century Insurance Co.

Congratulations again! This time for the story in the [May/June] issue of Guam Business magazine by Melanie Mendiola, “Hand on the Tiller.” Seven stories about seven outstanding individuals who are pursuing an active business life while others of their age have practically abdicated life because they went into retirement.
These are truly inspirational stories, and Guam Business magazine should be highly commended for rolling them out. Needless to say, these steadfast citizens and business leaders are good examples for what everybody should really be pursing, i.e., leading a productive life, doing their part in making this a better world, instead of stepping out and trying to let the rest of the world go by — which it won’t do anyway.
It’s no secret that active, meaningful pursuit of real tasks is the best medicine for staying healthy, while retirement is best known as the time and place where people get sick, lose their appetite and some even their mind. Who needs that? You are certainly on the right track.
More power to you!
